DAG 2018-19 Attire

Classical Ballet Division

Pre-Ballet 1, 2, and 3

  • Solid color leotard
  • Pink tights
  • Pink ballet shoes – We prefer the Prima Pink Leather Stretch Ballet Shoes without drawstrings.  These are available for purchase through the DAG Office.
  • Hair should be pulled securely away from the face.  Short hair must be pulled back from the face by using a headband, hair clips, and/or bobby pins.
  • Ballet skirts are optional.  If your dancer chooses to wear a skirt, we prefer skirts attached to leotards to help keep the skirt in place.

Ballet 1 and 2

  • Solid color leotard
  • Pink tights

Preparatory Coral, Gold, and Plum, Ballet Elementary

  • Ballet skirts are optional.

Intermediate Coral, Gold, and Plum

  • Solid color leotard
  • Pink tights
  • Pink ballet shoes
  • Hair must be in a bun.  Short hair must be pulled back from face using a headband, hair clips, and/or bobby pins.  Examples of buns are provided below.
  • Ballet skirts are optional.

Advanced Coral, Gold, and Plum

  • Solid color leotard
  • Pink tights
  • Pink ballet shoes
  • Hair must be in a bun.  Short hair must be pulled back from face using a headband, hair clips, and/or bobby pins.  Examples of buns are provided below.
  • Ballet skirts are optional.

Boys in Pre-Ballet 1, 2, and 3, Ballet 1 and 2, Boys Dance

  • Black ballet shoes – We prefer the Black Leather Stretch Ballet Shoes without drawstrings.  These are available for order through the DAG Office.
  • White form fitting t-shirt or dance top
  • Black bike shorts, black tights, or athletic shorts (above knee length)
  • Longer hair should be pulled securely away from the face.

Adult Ballet Program

  • Leotard or fitness top
  • Tights or leggings
  • Ballet shoes
  • Hair should be in a bun or pulled securely away from the face
  • Adult dancers are encouraged to dress to their comfort level.

 

Other Dance Genres

Hip Hop – all levels

  • Solid color leotard or dance top
  • Sweatpants, leggings, or loose-fitting athletic pants
  • Black Converse high tops – This pair of Converse must be for dance only.  Dancers must wear street shoes into the DAG building and then change into dance shoes.  Dance shoes may not be worn outside the studio.
  • Hair should be in a ponytail or as directed by the instructor.

Jazz – Ballet 1 and 2 and all Preparatory level boys

  • Solid color shirt
  • Black bike shorts, black tights, or black jazz pants
  • Tan leather slip-on jazz shoes
  • Longer hair should be pulled securely away from the face.

Jazz – all Intermediate and Advanced level boys

  • Solid color shirt
  • Black bike shorts, black tights, or black jazz pants
  • Black leather laced jazz shoes
  • Longer hair should be pulled securely away from the face.

Tap – Ballet 1 and 2

  • Solid color leotard
  • Pink  tights
  • Black patent leather Mary Jane style tap shoes
  • Hair must be in a bun or pulled securely away from the face.  Short hair must be pulled back from face and secured with a headband, hair clips, or bobby pins.
  • Booty shorts over tights and/or jazz pants are optional.

Tap – all Preparatory, Intermediate, and Advanced levels

  • Solid color leotard
  • Pink  tights
  • Black leather split sole, laced tap shoes
  • Black bike shorts, black tights, or jazz pants are acceptable.
  • Hair must be in a bun or pulled securely away from the face.  Short hair must be pulled back from face and secured with a headband, hair clips, or bobby pins.
  • Booty shorts over tights and/or jazz pants are optional.

Tap – boys

  • Solid color shirt
  • Black bike shorts, black tights, or black jazz pants
  • Black leather laced tap shoes
  • Longer hair should be pulled securely away from the face.

Lyrical

  • Solid color leotard or dance top
  • Tights are not required.
  • Capri leggings or booty shorts are acceptable.
  • Flesh color foot paws or foot undies are needed for recital.  Any color is acceptable for class.
  • Hair should be in a ponytail or as directed by the instructor.
