History

Founded in 1972, Dance Arts, Inc. was known as School of Carolina Ballet Theatre and has been one of the leading dance schools in the Upstate. In 2000, Hernan Justo and Anita Pacylowski-Justo joined the staff of teachers and in 2004, the couple became the owners and directors of the school. It has produced many dancers that today work in companies all over the world. In 2014, School of Carolina Ballet Theatre changed it’s name to DanceArts Greenville.

We did not come to this decision easily but after living in Greenville for 14 years, we felt this better represented our lives. DanceArts Greenville is our passion. We feel this new name better reflects to the community how we truly live our lives. Dance is our Art in Greenville. The wonderful city we have warmly embraced and are so very happy to call home. I initially came to Greenville both as a professional dancer and a dance educator. My husband, Hernan, and I are raising our family in this wonderful community. We love dance and it was a natural progression to own a dance studio. We, along with our amazing teaching staff, have been offering a high quality dance education to Greenville families for many years. We are lucky to have students attend from many different areas of the Upstate but know that our new name DanceArts Greenville (DAG) will help other members of the community identify our unique style of dance education. We offer many styles of dance and our new name will help the community know that we do more than just ballet!
