Rebekah Purdom – Instructor

Rebekah is a native of Asheville, North Carolina, where she received all of her formal dance training prior to joining Ballet Greenville as a company dancer. Most recently, she trained with the Ballet Conservatory of Asheville under the artistic leadership of Angie Lynn. In addition to her training during the school year, Rebekah also had the privilege of attending multiple esteemed summer intensives including programs with Washington Ballet, Richmond Ballet, Sarasota Ballet, Philadelphia Ballet, and UNC School of the Arts.

Rebekah’s first taste of being a dance educator arose at the age of 12 when she became a teacher assistant at her local dance studio. At the age of 16, she became a substitute dance instructor, teaching both classical ballet and contemporary technique. After graduating from high school, Rebekah officially became part of the year-round faculty at her local studio, teaching both during the school year and at their summer workshops and dance intensive. During her second year of dancing with Ballet Greenville, Rebekah joined the faculty of DanceArts Greenville. Throughout her years of teaching, Rebekah has had the pleasure of working with a range of age groups, from budding baby ballerinas, to aspiring pre-pro level dancers. She has also been granted a multitude of choreographic opportunities, creating a range of works from large group pieces to soloist roles, in a variety of styles. Rebekah is thrilled to continue her journey as a dance educator alongside the incredible faculty of DanceArts Greenville!
